For over 15 years, Jon has been providing investment guidance and consultation for clients regarding all facets of their financial lives. Jon progressed from the offices of Jessup, Josephthal and Quick & Reilly in Denver / Boulder Colorado to become the manager of a 6 state region for Quick & Reilly in the Midwest. Today he holds the title of Founder and President of Buttonwood Financial Group in Kansas City. During his career, Jon has worked with over 45,000 individual clients and has been the supervising manager for over $1 Billion in client assets. Although bond portfolio development as well as debt and cash flow management are among Jon’s everyday activities, his core strength is in developing personalized strategies to help individuals increase their net worth. His investments of choice often include individual fixed income (bonds) securities as well as mutual, index and exchange traded funds. At the core of the Buttonwood Financial investment strategy Jon uses a logical process known as asset allocation, which is simply the investment, monitoring, and rebalance of money among different asset classes and various market sectors. When used properly, asset allocation can help reduce risk in a down market, while allowing appreciation potential in up markets. Jon designs each allocation to meet the unique objectives of each client. For this reason, no two investment households managed at Buttonwood are exactly alike. Jon is married, lives in Kansas City, Missouri, and spends his personal time working with several non profit groups in the greater Kansas City area. His passions include the enjoyment of live jazz as well as charitable support through The Buttonwood Foundation and Financial Group. As a business owner with a high level of technology available, Jon assists several Kansas City area charities, jazz musicians, and small businesses with their infrastructure needs. This includes office meeting space, web site development, direct mail, and copy and postage supplies.
Currently Jon serves as the Vice President of the Sister City Association of Kansas City, MO as well as the Vice President of the Town Art Show for Parkinson Foundation. During his time off Jon can be found on the back of a horse riding through the Missouri countryside with his wife Wendy and dog La-Te-Da.

Vince’s large array of expertise extends outside of the office to the Rugby field. A veteran of the Kansas City Blues, Vince has supported the nationally recognized Kansas City rugby team in countless victories in the past 13 years - as illustrated in this June 2007 article. In addition to athletics, Vince is also a well-read individual who independently studies domestic economic policy and literature to maintain his breadth of knowledge.

Wendy has extensive experience in the financial arena focusing on client service for over 15 years. She has spent time at Dominick & Dominick, Smith Barney Harris Upham, Piper Jaffray, PaineWebber, and Merrill Lynch. Wendy shares an emphasis on customer service with the rest of the staff at Buttonwood Financial Group. Her specialties include management of internal office operations and accounting as well as overseeing our client service programs.
Wendy is a multi-talented person with an equestrian passion. She shares her skills with the community at Heartland Therapeutic Riding, where she mentors people with disabilities and helps them experience the thrill of riding a horse.
Bill Ryan

Bill started in the financial services industry in 1999 and joined Buttonwood in 2003. Bill is involved in all aspects of the day-to-day back office operations for Buttonwood Financial Group. His responsibilities include customer support, client relations and coordinating administrative duties. Bill also provides oversight with client files, data, paperwork, cost basis, etc. Bill’s invaluable organizational skills and efficiency enables the rest of the team to invest more time directly with our clients allowing for increased customized service and assistance everyday.
Bill is married with four children and resides in Olathe, Kansas. Bill and his wife, Greta, support local organizations including Christian Foundation for Children and Aging, Boy Scouts of America, Olathe Soccer Club, The Ancient Order of Hibernians in America, and the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. Bill also has a strong musical talent with percussion, guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, song writing and vocals.
Linda Koschmann

Linda has been involved in the financial industry for more than 18 years. After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1976 she went on to complete business and finance courses through the University of Missouri Kansas City. In 1982 she began her career with Merrill Lynch, earned her Series 7 and 63 licenses, and quickly advanced from data processing to registered sales associate. Linda found that she loved the challenging and fast-paced environment of the financial industry but also needed to satisfy her creative ambitions.
After many years at Merrill and a bit of soul searching, Linda joined Buttonwood Financial Group in September, 2005. It proved to be the perfect match. Linda's knowledge of the financial industry, exceptional client service and creative talent are used to full advantage by the Buttonwood Team. Her responsibilities include managing calendar events and meetings for clients, interacting with the press and public on behalf of Buttonwood, supervising client communication and maintaining the Buttonwood Art Space. Linda is a longtime resident of the Kansas City area and lives in Crestwood with her husband Peter and many "pet children". In her free time she enjoys painting, gardening, fishing, and spending time at her sister's cabin in Southeast Missouri.
